Updated: Aug 7, 2023

Planning a trip to Palm Springs or the greater Coachella Valley but not sure where to eat? Let us be the first to say that these areas boast MANY restaurants with delicious cuisines and unique and trendy atmospheres, but the following recommendations are some of our all-time favorites. (And trust us, we're locals!)

Mexican:

"Guillermo’s Mexican Restaurante Palm Desert has been a mainstay of Palm Desert area dining since 2003. We are proud to serve the highest quality, freshest Mexican dishes in a warm, friendly environment. Family owned and operated, we put a premium on making our customers feel welcome and ensuring that they have the best experience possible. We accomplish this through serving authentic, creative dishes that our customers tend to love as much as we do. We also serve over 300 varieties of tequila, which can be enjoyed at our tequila tastings or in our many uniquely delicious margarita recipes. Stop by soon for some live music, a warm welcome, and a meal you won’t forget."
"Immerse yourself in an authentic Mexican dining experience with our traditional Oaxacan motif and double-sided fireplace. Let our talented bartenders create a bespoke margarita – just for you – from 1 of more than 100 tequilas."
"Mexico's artistry extends to its flavorful, colorful and specialized cuisine, which has been so richly honored in places like Austin, Los Angeles and San Diego, but has been otherwise largely ignored. Our goal is to bring you authentic cuisine, crafted by experienced chefs, passionate about exposing you to the best Mexico has to offer. We believe your experience at Tac/Quila should involve the highest quality ingredients, the best possible people, and a rich, inviting ambiance, that reflects the heart and soul of Mexico."

Modern American:

"Voted ‘Best romantic Restaurant,’ you will savor our "New American Cuisine” that will captivate your palette. We serve only the finest, freshest and organic ingredients; from our pastries to our finest meats and freshly caught seafood. If you're looking for lighter fare, visit our 'famous' and lively Fireside Lounge where you will enjoy drink specials all night and live music is offered from 4p.m. to close."
"Where dinner is served amidst classic 1920's architecture and mountain views...Guided by the 6 years he spent learning the techniques and philosophies of chefs and kitchens throughout Switzerland, France, and Germany, chef Michael draws his inspiration from California's diversity and abundant farmer's market produce...For true food lovers, Workshop Kitchen + Bar is reason enough to plan a trip to the desert."

"Nestled cliffside in the heart of the desert, La Quinta Cliffhouse has remained a local hidden gem for years as one of the desert's most sought-after places to dine, wine and gather with friends and family. Our classic American menu showcases perfectly executed steak, pasta and fresh seafood dishes, complimented by an award-winning wine list and creative cocktails. At La Quinta Cliffhouse, guests enjoy a unique dining experience near world-class resorts and shopping districts just minutes from Palm Springs, California."

"Located in La Quinta, Okura offers a unique style, inventive specialties, and focuses on fresh ingredients. Over the years, Okura has become a local phenomenon, winning first place in The Desert Sun’s “Best of The Valley” award in the Japanese restaurant category for over 8 years.
